Our Black Forest Gateaux gelato combines rich chocolate sponge, tangy cherry sauce, and creamy dairy for a decadent dessert experience. It is dark, fruity, and incredibly satisfying. We layer real cake pieces and fruit to create a scoop that eats like a slice of the real thing.
Flavour experience
We build this flavour on contrast. We use a double cream base to represent the whipped cream of the gateau. We then ripple in a sharp black cherry variegate that provides a punchy, tart fruitiness. Finally, we fold in chunks of Belgian chocolate cake. This adds a deep cocoa richness that ties the cream and fruit together perfectly.
Texture
This is a highly textured gelato. The base is smooth and silky, but it is packed with inclusions. The cherry sauce is thick and glossy, while the cake pieces are soft and moist. You get a different combination of cream, fruit, and sponge in every single bite.
